How many belts does one person need?!

For somebody that doesn't wear pants, Lulu sure has a lot of belts!

Lulu's many belts are one of her key features: it looks like a jumbled mess, but in fact each belt is connected individually from one side to the other.

Because in the paper model, they will be too thin to give them a real, 3D thickness of course, I will make the belts as simple flat strips.

Besides livening up the textures, I also straightened them, because most of them had some strange kinks (no pun intended...)

Lulu's boots are made for walking

Final Fantasy X is no different than other Final Fantasy games, in that you'll be doing *a lot* of walking. So your characters need a good pair of boots (not a big, black blob). Stay tuned!

What's under Lulu's dress?

A question that has been bugging many gamers since the release of Final Fantasy X in 2001, is "what is underneath Lulu's dress??"

As is the case with many games, parts that the player never gets to see, are often simplified or simply left out completely by the game designers, because it would only waste valuable computing power during the game.

But of course, for a paper model, it would look much nicer if Lulu actually had legs underneath her dress... ;o)

So after remodelling Lulu's legs and smoothing out the texture of her nylons, this is the result so far.

Stay tuned for more revelations about what's under Lulu's dress!

New papercraft model project: Final Fantasy X Lulu

Not quite the stereotypical Final Fantasy black mage, Final Fantasy X's Lulu (what's in a name?) wears a long, dark dress showing off her ample cleavage and lots and lots of belts.

As seductive as she might look, though, it's not a good idea to underestimate her...

Here's my latest papercraft Advance Wars unit: the Orange Star F-15!

Parts and instructions available as usual from my papercraft webpage:

Have fun building!

New webpoll: knife or scissors?

I've always used an X-Acto knife with a #11 Classic Fine Point blade since I started papercrafting, but what do you use? ;o)

Knife or scissors?

What cutting tool do you prefer?

Knife only.
Scissors only.
Mostly a knife, sometimes scissors.
Mostly scissors, sometimes a knife.
Cutting plotter machine.

It seems that an overwhelming majority of voters on last time's webpoll ("where are you from?") are from North America, with Europe (where I live ;o) coming in second.

As you can see, people from all over the world enjoy papercraft as a hobby, and I hope you do too: have fun!

papercraft Advance Wars F-15

Now that my papercraft LEGO Pirate is finished, I can focus on finishing my Advance Wars Orange Star Fighter.

It's already built as you can see, so once again it's down to making the instructions and some pictures and a video for the release. ;o)

Luckily, this one won't have as many steps as Kapitein Knoest. ;o)

Stay tuned!

LEGO papercraft Pirate almost ready

I took a lot of pictures during the build, so it will take me a while to finish the instructions, but still, it won't be very long now anymore before I can release paper Knoest. ;o)
